Fishing in Guatemala for Marlin and Sailfish is successful year round | sail fish | Marlin |Deep Sea Fishing|Guatemala

Many fishermen are asking about the best times to come to Guatemala to bait and switch for marlin and sail fish.  Well, honestly there is not a bad time to fish in our waters.

Sailfish are abundant year round and bad days in Guatemala are better than most good days for lodges targeting sail fish in Costa Rica.  The best months for sailfish are in the months of November through April but we still see roughly 10-15 releases per day per boat and many more raises, of course.  In the Spring, the bite can really heat up with typical number of releases being in the 30-50 range.  The one day record on one boat is 124 releases--a world record for sailfish releases!

Marlin are in Guatemalan waters year round also, but the late summer and early fall tends to bring the highest number of marlin releases.

So really any time is a good time to plan an unforgettable family vacation or a guy or gal trip here in Iztapa & Port of San Jose Guatemala.   The local Guatemalans have known this for a long time and many are frequent repeat bill fishing day charter clients in all fishing seasons
