Big Game Fishing Guatemala | Mad Marlin Exotic Sportfishing Trips
We are excited to have the 10 month long total refit and customization of the MAD MARLIN completed and she is back in the water ready to do even better than before. We have added so many new custom changes that she looks like a brand new sportfishing boat.
We tested her out fully and found her to get 34 knots with a full load of diesel. The twin cummins diesels are really putting out some power.
The new look of the fiberglass and mahogany interior is really stunning especially when compared to the original paneling. Solid mahogany and tempered glass doors have brought her into the contemporary look. The bathroom door no longer is in battle with the main cabin door since we created a sliding pocket door for the head and shower.
We will be able to really offer some good eating to clients now with the convection oven, microwave and big grill. I can already taste those delicious mahi mahi (dorado).
The air conditioning is putting our freezing cold air.
We have created custom hatches on practically every possible location so storage is no problem at all.
The custom cushions for the engine cover came out even better than expected and we customized the cabin seating with plush marine cushions and a style much like that found on new designer interior yachts.
The helm was taken down to bare bones and completely redesigned to accommodate all the new electronics from Simrad. We chose the Simrad over Furuno Navnet system due to the amazing difference in performance, detail, clarity and ease of use in the networking environment.
The tower helm station was reworked also for the second station electronics.
It has been quite a labor of love but I know it is going to be worth it with the fishing advantage that we now have with this finished product. She looks and performs like a brand new sportfishing boat.
